NCQA Recommendations to Transform Telehealth, HEDIS®, and Data Analysis

In Affinite Quality, HEDIS & Quality Management by Marketing

Recognizing that technology has caught up and evolving circumstances necessitate new initiatives, NCQA’s Taskforce on Telehealth Policy has developed a host of policy recommendations surrounding the use of telemedicine. As telehealth initiatives continue to expand, it will create more and more data that health plans can use to inform care decisions, improve member outreach, maximize revenues, and streamline operations.

Vital Data Technology constantly explores ways our data collection, analysis, and activation strategies can better enable our clients in these key performance areas. The taskforce’s recommendations offer clues as to where HEDIS® reporting guidelines are headed regarding telemedicine and data science:

  • Standardized data-sharing guidelines that integrate telehealth data with care records and all other patient information while maintaining strong patient privacy
  • A CMS-led “virtual medical home” model giving patients access to tools that facilitate data sharing, care coordination, patient experiences, and outcomes
  • Dynamic virtual, patient-centric-care plans that transcend siloed, encounter-based documentation.

We invite you to join our exclusive “NCQA Quality Management Update” to receive our quality experts’ overviews of every update and share their insights on how they affect your plan and your members’ care. To review these notifications via email, please enter your information below:
